I have already adopted an all too unnatural choice of positively-reinforcing words to repeat to my students online. It’s not that we have to.. but I figured saying “good”, “very good”, “great”.. etc can get boring. So as I’m sitting in our office with the other 6 teachers in the room, I overhear some of them throw in words like “fantastic”, “wonderful”, and “excellent” and “splendid” so I thought I’d give it all a try. The students love it and it keeps things entertaining so its a win win for everyone =)
Overall, works really been good though. There’s so much to do near my office in the heart of People’s Square, my work schedule’s pretty flexible, my manager is chill, I got to use my crafting skills (that would otherwise go to waste) to decorate our whole office space, and I get along really well with all my co-workers. Were suppose to get a handful of new teachers coming in next week and our team should be growing pretty quick so I’m excited!
As for students, I get some of them asking for my email at the end of class because they think I’m the most patient and they like my voice. Some want to email if they have any English problems and I’d be happy to answer. And some seem to want to really get to know me. So yea, I get an email Friday night after work from one student who’s this 24 year old guy. He practically wrote out an online dating profile for me including his pictures, stating his job is one of the top 500 companies, and that he likes beautiful sunrises.. which I found to be semi-hilarious. It could just be friendly but still.
Will include pictures of my office as soon as I can! :)
tata!
